Update

We went and had a visit with the LC again today to work on our latch.

There was good news and bad news.

The bad news:
-Stella just can NOT latch properly and in half a nursing session got 0.3 ounces. Obviously far from her needs, especially in a growth spurt right now.
- The LC couldn't figure out what the issue is and ruled out position. We tried three different ones and nothing mattered. And this is all still with a nipple shield.
- She thinks she is still restricted with her frenulum and is glad we have a follow up tomorrow to see what the dentist says.
- She also thinks she has a small and receding jaw line that she might just have to grow into and mature, which might be six more weeks.
- So still no latch without a shield and still a poor latch with one.

The good news:
Lots of positive to focus on. :)
- My milk supply is awesome. I'm borderline a cow. I pumped 40 ounces yesterday. She mentioned reducing number of pumps or pumping time bc I'm producing WAY more than she's consuming.
- She was 9 lb 1.1oz. Yay for weight gain!!!
- She latches much better to the bottle than she did before. Still not great but much better.
- The LC said none of this is me. It is all 100% baby problems. Not that that makes me feel better, but she said it in a very encouraging way and emphasized that I am in no way failing bc it's out of my hands with it being all baby issues.
